Tractor Supply Company Store Card review: Decent for special financing and pet owners but lacking elsewhere
Tractor Supply Company Store Card overview
The Tractor Supply Company Store Card offers decent earning rates on Tractor Supply purchases. However, since it is a store card, it can only be used at a handful of places, and its restrictive redemption options make it a poor choice for most. Card rating*: ⭐⭐
*Card rating is based on the opinion of TPG’s editors and is not influenced by the card issuer.
We rarely ever recommend store credit cards, and that is no exception with the Tractor Supply Company Store Card.
With over 2,200 locations in 49 states, you may be closer to a Tractor Supply Company store than you realize. TSC specializes in and sells home improvement goods and hardware, pet care items, lawn and garden maintenance and livestock supplies. It also has a subsidiary brand, Petsense, which focuses on pet care.
The no-annual-fee TSC store card is a closed-loop card, meaning it can only be used at Tractor Supply, TractorSupplyRx and Petsense (only in-store). This severely limits the card’s value proposition, but it does include special financing offers and elevated benefits when shopping at TSC.
It’s important to note that TSC offers two versions of this card: a store card and a traditional credit card version that can be used anywhere. My review will focus on the store card, which requires a fair credit score to be approved.
Let’s examine if this store card is a worthwhile addition to your wallet.

Benefits of the Tractor Supply Company Store Card
As is the case with most store cards, the benefits on this card are lacking. To start, the card lacks a consistent welcome offer.
Cardholders will receive TSC Preferred Plus Neighbor status, which grants perks like free same-day delivery, free everyday standard shipping (a $29 minimum applies), a free full-day trailer rental and a special reward on your birthday. Cardholders will also receive exclusive offers.
TSC Preferred Plus Neighbor status normally requires $2,000 in spending with Tractor Supply each calendar year, which is a lot for a single store. That can make this card appealing for Tractor Supply fans who can’t fathom spending anywhere close to that amount each year with this brand.
The biggest benefit of the TSC store is the special promotional financing, which can be quite useful if you are looking to pay for a large purchase over time.
The special financing is as follows:
- No interest if paid in full in six months on purchases of $199 or more
- No interest if paid in full in 12 months on purchases of $399 or more
- 36 months with 3.99% annual percentage rate financing on purchases of $1,599 or more
You can pay your Tractor Supply credit card bill by phone or online.

Earning and redeeming on the Tractor Supply Company Store Card
The Tractor Supply credit card earns 5% back in the form of 5 Neighbor’s Club points per dollar spent on eligible Tractor Supply purchases in-store, online and via the TSC app, as well as on PetSense purchases (in-store only). Points expire after 24 months of inactivity.
In my opinion, this 5% back can be especially useful for pet owners and is hard to beat. TSC sells a wide variety of pet supplies and food and has its own subsidiary brand, Petsense by Tractor Supply.
Plus, you can earn 5% back on your pet’s prescriptions through TractorSupplyRx and vet visits inside TSC. If you are near a Petsense store, you can even earn 5% back on your pet’s grooming needs.
The points are automatically converted to rewards and deposited into your Neighbor’s Club account 15 days after you’ve earned them. Rewards are issued in increments of $2, $5 and $10 (200, 500 and 1000 points, respectively).
Cardholders can change the increments in which rewards are issued in their Neighbor’s Club profile.
These rewards can only be redeemed on TSC purchases in-store, online and via the TSC app and on in-store and online Petsense purchases. Rewards expire after 60 days. The redemption options are quite limited, but this is common with store cards.

Which cards compete with the Tractor Supply Company Store Card?
Since this is a store card, there are many other cards that offer cash back or flexible rewards that are much simpler to redeem.

This card provides simple and easy-to-use cash back on all purchases. To learn more, check out our full review of the Citi Double Cash.
- If you want to earn transferable miles: The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card earns 2 miles per dollar spent on all eligible purchases, including ones made at TSC. This card gives you the option to redeem your miles by utilizing Capital One’s roster of 15-plus transfer partners. To learn more, check out our full review of the Capital One Venture Rewards.
- If you want special financing: The Chase Freedom Unlimited® has a 15-month promotional 0% introductory APR (after the 15 months, there is a variable APR of 19.99% to 28.74% that applies) and has no annual fee. Plus, this card earns at least 1.5% cash back on all purchases, and in the first year, new applicants will earn an extra 1.5% cash back on all purchases (up to $20,000 spent in the first year), which is worth up to $300 cash back. Is the Tractor Supply Company Store Card worth it?
Generally, store cards are not worth it, and that’s almost always the case with the Tractor Supply credit card. In my opinion, adding this card to your wallet can make sense if you have a pet, need special financing for a large purchase or place a lot of value on Neighbor Preferred Plus status. Aside from those cases, I recommend applying for a card that earns more flexible rewards.
Bottom line
Under certain circumstances, the Tractor Supply Company Store Card could make sense if you’re a Tractor Supply fan who can take advantage of its benefits, including elevated earnings on pet supply purchases and free shipping. However, for most, a general rewards card is a better fit for the earnings and redemption flexibility.
