2023 Emmy Predictions:
Outstanding Drama Series

Weekly Commentary: How many of the freshman series can make the eight slots in the drama series categories? HBO has two strong contenders with “House of the Dragon” and “The Last of Us” while Disney and FX are hoping to break through with “Andor” and “The Old Man” respectively.

Netflix has a late-breaker with “The Diplomat” that has received solid enough praise from critics, while Apple TV+ is putting all its power behind “Bad Sisters” with its darkly comedic undertones.

We also shouldn’t count out Prime Video’s “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” which is sure to have a strong showing in the technical categories while Paramount+ is gambling on “1923” not going the way of “Yellowstone” last year (which was shut out).
