There are so many things to do in Daytona Beach. Whether you’re vacationing in Florida or are a native of the Sunshine State, this remains one of the most must-visit cities. The best things to do in Daytona Beach range from the likes of the iconic Daytona International Speedway to beautiful sandy beaches and vibrant nightlife.
I live an hour away from the Atlantic coast town and often enjoy heading there for a day. There are so many places to visit in Daytona Beach that it’s always a sure bet for a fun experience for the whole family.
25 Things To Do in Daytona Beach
After visiting Daytona Beach on countless occasions, and living just a short drive away, I can honestly say I feel like a local of this beautiful town. It wasn’t easy, but I’ve narrowed down my favorite things to do in Daytona Beach to just 25. Here it goes:
1. Visit Daytona International Speedway
No visit to Daytona Beach is complete without a visit to the inspiring Daytona International Speedway. This historic raceway hosts the Daytona 500 every year which is the NASCAR Cup Series season-opening race.
You’re sure to feel an adrenaline rush viewing the high-speed race, but the Speedway offers even more in motorsports such as the Coke Zero Sugar 400 and the Rolex 24.
The Daytona International Speedway is also home to some amazing events such as the Rockville Music Festival – one of my favorites. Each year, the event hosts the most popular rock and metal bands from around the world. The lineup is always different and exciting; if you can, plan your visit around this.
There are so many places to visit in Daytona Beach that I know it’s often hard to choose what to do but the Speedway is a ‘must-see’ attraction. Even if you aren’t able to visit the Daytona Speedway when it’s hosting one of the many venues or events, you can still enjoy a guided tour where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the history and explore the track.

2. Experience a Cultural Show: Polynesian Fire
If you’re looking to attend a memorable event, then I suggest the Polynesian Fire Show. It’s great for young and old alike – I brought my two children to the show when we visited Daytona and we all loved it equally. It features music, a luau-style buffet, an authentic fire knife performance (to the delight of my son), and hula dancing.
We attended the show on a rainy evening because it’s held indoors so you don’t have to worry about being rained out, too hot, or too cold. During the event, the audience is invited to participate which makes for a wonderfully lively event as everyone tries their best to sway their hips in a hula. In my opinion, it’s one of the most unique things to do in Daytona Beach.
This show is very popular so be sure to book tickets here to avoid missing out.

Motorized vehicles are allowed on Daytona Beach so when you rent a bike you can actually ride it on the beach. My kids had a blast riding the electric bikes up and down the stretch. They stopped to grab an ice cream at one of the many snack trucks that ply the beachline, before zooming off again.
If you’re searching for one of the cool things to do in Daytona Beach, then I suggest making reservations early because electric bike rentals are especially popular. If beach riding isn’t your thing, then you’ll be happy to learn that the city is also filled with a bevy of bike trails that you can explore.
