Twinkle Khanna recalls how her romance with ‘co-star’ Akshay Kumar began | Bollywood


Former actor, now author Twinkle Khanna has written a hilarious new piece on boredom and how sometimes one must embrace it rather than trying their best to kill it. She even mentioned how it had a big role in get her and husband Akshay Kumar close when they used to be co-actors. (Also read: Twinkle Khanna says wrinkles should be considered equivalent to medals)

In her latest column for The Times of India, Twinkle wrote, “On the other hand, being bored at one point, (before the advent of smartphones, where I could idle away hours scrolling through feeds of airport looks) also made me more receptive to taking up the arduous task of jogging with my co-actor, which eventually led to matrimony and two kids with slightly more athletic genes.”

Twinkle and Akshay starred in movies such as International Khiladi and Zulmi in 1999. They got married in 2001 and had kids Aarav and Nitara. Twinkle often shares hilarious posts about her marriage on social media.

On their 22nd wedding anniversary last month, she posted a glimpse of a card picked by Akshay for her and recalled how she once told him that she would never marry him. “Only he could have found the perfect card! On our fifth date, I told him, ‘I would never marry someone like you.’ He instantly replied,’ I don’t remember asking you.’ I was so impressed with that line.”

“It’s been over two decades and we have built a life that encompasses two children, our extended families, work, friends, dogs, independence and stability.’ As for what he has written in the card: I don’t know if I have the wisdom of a queen but the man does have the patience of a saint and most importantly, a heart of gold. You don’t have to be alike to make it work, you just have to like each other enough. #bestfriends #behindthescenes,” she further added.

In his post, Akshay wrote, “Two imperfect people who have perfectly been stuck together since twenty-two years! Happy anniversary Tina.”
