Disney Treasure: Everything we know about about Disney Cruise Line’s next ship
After a 10-year hiatus in expanding the fleet, Disney Cruise Line has been busy in recent years.
Disney Wish joined the cruise line in the summer of 2022, ushering in an all-new class of three Triton-class ships that will join the original Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
Up next is Disney Treasure, which will be second in that trio of Triton-class ships coming to Disney Cruise Line in 2024. Here’s everything we know so far about Disney Treasure.

What we know about the Disney Treasure cruise ship
Disney Treasure will share much of its footprint and layout with Disney Wish. However, it will have a distinct look that appears to be less bright and airy “fairy tale” than we saw on Wish and more “mysterious adventure.”
Based on renderings, Disney Treasure will feature a Grand Hall that leans into a palate of deep blues, turquoise and gold, with a design inspired by gilded palaces from faraway places such as Asia and Africa — including the fictitious city of Agrabah from Disney’s “Aladdin.”
Fittingly, the statue in the Grand Hall will feature Jasmine, Aladdin and Magic Carpet ready to go on an adventure, which is the theme of this next ship.
Captain Minnie will also wear a special adventure-seeking outfit while on board Disney Treasure. And out on the stern, there will be a duo of adventurous souls with both Peter Pan and Captain Hook sailing along wherever Disney Treasure may take them.

Big Disney Treasure reveal coming soon
While we know a few things about Disney Treasure, there’s so much more that we don’t know.
However, that will soon change as Disney plans to hold a big virtual reveal at 11 a.m. EST on Aug. 30. The event will allow would-be guests to explore the “newest spaces, experiences, entertainment and more.”
When will Disney Treasure set sail?
Naturally, Disney cruise fans want to know when Disney Treasure will set sail so they can plan their vacations.
Disney has publicly shared that Disney Treasure will join the fleet in 2024. And during a recent investor call, Disney said it would be expanding the Disney Cruise Line fleet by adding two more ships in fiscal year 2025 and another in fiscal year 2026.
Presumably, the ones coming in fiscal year 2025 will be the two already under construction: Disney Treasure and the ship it acquired from Dream Cruises that will be based in Asia. The third and final in the Triton class with Wish and Treasure is presumably the one to join in fiscal year 2026.
Disney’s fiscal year ends on Oct. 1, so fiscal year 2025 would begin right after that, meaning that it looks like Treasure will first set sail sometime in the later months of 2024.
Additionally, in late March 2023, a ceremonial coin was placed under the ship’s keel, in keeping with maritime tradition, as the ship reached this construction milestone at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. Engraved on the coin was Captain Minnie in her new voyager outfit.

The timing of the ceremony gives a clue to where the ship is in the construction process.
The keel laying ceremony for Disney Wish took place in April 2021, approximately 14 months before the ship first arrived in Florida from Germany and 15 months before it began carrying paying passengers.
Although construction timelines can vary from ship to ship, if that schedule were to repeat, Disney Treasure would be ready for passengers in mid-2024. This means that the late-2024 timeline hinted at in the recent investor call should be a realistic target.
We also already know that Disney’s second island in the Bahamas, Lighthouse Point, is set to debut by June 2024. With Castaway Cay and Lighthouse Point, Disney will have double the number of Disney-operated destinations in the Bahamas available to ships like Wish, Treasure and others come 2024.
Even without timeline specifics, we’re confident Disney Treasure is on track to join the fleet in the latter half of 2024.

Bottom line
Since 2012, Disney Cruise Line has operated a fleet of four ships, but 2022 marked the start of a period of rapid growth for the line. It welcomed Disney Wish in 2022 and will debut Disney Treasure likely in 2024 and the third Triton-class ship in 2025.
Disney also made a surprise purchase of one of the world’s largest cruise ships. That vessel will join the fleet and operate out of Singapore beginning in 2025.
Additionally, the cruise line has added a new highest tier, Pearl, in its Castaway Club elite status program to mark Disney’s 25th year of cruise operations.
It’s an exciting time to be a Disney Cruise Line fan. Stay tuned for more information about Disney Treasure, such as its onboard offerings and other exciting details, to be released on Aug. 30.
