Qatar Airways to serve caviar in business class on select routes
Qatar Airways will serve caviar to passengers flying in its world-class Qsuite starting Aug. 15.
While caviar is a common sight in international first class on leading airlines, this is the first time it has been offered in business class, an area where a starter of smoked salmon is often the norm.
The luxury indulgence will initially be available on 13 routes between Doha and Boston; Dallas; Hong Kong; Houston; London; Los Angeles; Melbourne, Australia; New York City; Paris; Sao Paulo; Singapore; Sydney; and Washington, D.C.
The award-winning Qsuite has long been viewed as the pinnacle of business-class travel among frequent flyers. The luxurious new addition further cements its best-in-class service, adding first-class flare to the product.
The new Siberian caviar service will be available as a stand-alone appetizer option or as part of the onboard meal courses. (Don’t worry, Qatar’s popular Arabic mezze isn’t going anywhere.) Passengers can expect all the traditional caviar garnishes, including creme fraiche, chopped chives and onion, and crumbled hard-boiled egg. Flyers will receive blinis on Melba toast to scoop up this decadent treat.
“Qatar Airways takes pride in providing the best premium business class travel experience,” Xia Cai, Qatar Airways’ senior vice president of product development and design, said in a statement. “The introduction of caviar service, commonly available only in first class cabins, further elevates Qatar Airways’ award-winning business class experience.”
Qatar Airways is an eight-time World’s Best Airline winner at the Skytrax World Airline Awards. Its revolutionary Qsuite first launched in 2017, and it was the first suite-style business-class service. It was complete with closing doors and expansive layouts featuring fully lie-flat double beds and configurations large enough for a four-person family.
Last month, the airline revealed its latest Qsuite revamp at the Farnborough International Airshow outside of London.
